At Harpursville Central School District, we are dedicated to providing a learning environment where every student can succeed—no matter their learning style, academic needs, or social-emotional needs.
Our schools implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports – Integrated (MTSS-I)—a proactive, data-driven framework designed to identify and support students who may need extra help.
MTSS-I provides academic and behavioral interventions tailored to individual needs.
Each school has a student support team that collaborates with teachers and families.
For many students, MTSS-I is all the support they need to thrive.
MTSS-I ensures that every child receives the right support at the right time.
When students are determined to have a disability, we offer a comprehensive range of Special Education programs for students from ages 3 to 21, supported by:
Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) for ages 3–5
Committee on Special Education (CSE) for ages 5–21
Our services are:
Delivered in the least restrictive environment that meets the student’s needs
Designed to keep students engaged in the general education setting whenever possible
Available through on-campus and off-campus placements, depending on need
Families play a vital role in student success. We encourage all parents and guardians to:
Attend CPSE or CSE meetings
Communicate regularly with their child’s teacher and support team
Ask questions and stay engaged in the support process
Together, we create a support network that helps students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
If you have concerns about your child’s progress or think additional support may be needed:
➡️ Start by contacting your child’s school directly.
They will help guide you through next steps and available services.
